About UsAfter being diagnosed with debilitating disease years ago, I had to find a way to keep my hands from cramping up. I took a knotted bag class and was hooked. I went out and bought every bead, book and finding that I could. I am mostly self taught, and am willing to learn whatever technique my customers are interested in and then teach them. Some of my abilities are peyote stitch, square stitch, right-angle weave, brick stitch, loom work, wire wrapping, polymer clay, and many more. Since there are so many different beads out in the market, I love bringing in things my customers are looking for. It not only helps them, but also helps me decide what to carry for the rest of my customers. So please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me and ask for special requests. After almost losing my husband to Sleep Apnea, I decided to give control of my life up to the Lord. I asked Him to show me the path He wanted me to walk, but not to be subtle about it, instead throw me a brick. In walked Peggy Klein into my life. Since Peggy was also a Christian woman, we hit it off right away. At the time, Peggy was looking to open a tea house in the area, and I wanted to open a bead shop. We made it our mission to have information by the end of 2004 to fulfill our dreams. Peggy found a building for us to look at where she could use one half for her tea house and I could use the other half for my bead shop. We found Furlow Commons was for rent and thought it to be the perfect spot. Since the space was not big enough for both of us and it did not meet with the health requirements for Peggy’s tea house, I decided it would be perfect for my bead shop and I rented it. Peggy found the perfect spot in Oley, PA. With the help of my husband and children, we started renovating the store in January 2005. Painting, hanging slat walls, looking for store fixtures, finding the best bead suppliers my budget could afford, and we were off. My children sat for hours untying and re-tying strings of beads, weighing out the seed beads, pricing everything and anything else that needed to be done. We opened the doors April 6, 2005. I promised God that if he led people to the shop, I would tell the story of how He showed me what my path in life was. I have met some of the most wonderful people, Mary B., Kathy W., Heidi, Lori K, and so many more that it would fill up my website just naming them all. I love sharing my story and showing people that the Lord always has our best interest in mind for us, if we only trust Him. So if you live in the area, just Hop On Over and see what we have to offer.
